CENERGAM — the Amendolara Energy Community based in the municipality of Amendolara — is one of the first renewable energy communities registered in Italy and certainly the first in Calabria, born from the collaboration between the Calabrian branch of the prestigious “Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn” of Naples, as Prosumer, and the municipality that hosts it.
Its creation is part of the Crimac project – Advanced Marine Research and Infrastructure Centre in Calabria, funded with resources from the Ministry of University and Research.
The technical implementation and the entire administrative process for the commissioning of the systems and for obtaining the recognition of the energy community by the GSE were handled by Fotovoltaica Srl, which received a specific mandate to act as Reference Person from the end customers and producers included in the configuration.
The Reference Person has the following tasks:
- to communicate the list of entities that are part of the REC, specifying the type (producer and/or consumer);
- to submit the application to the GSE for the valorisation and incentivisation of the shared electricity;
- to receive the incentives paid by the GSE and distribute them among the members of the REC as set out in the internal regulations.
Fotovoltaica srl also offered its collaboration in defining the legal configuration for the setup of the REC, including the elements relating to the template Statute and internal Regulations.
Since CENERGAM was created during the transitional phase, with limitations concerning the geographic aggregation perimeter (defined by the secondary substation) and the size of each individual system (no more than 200 kW), an expansion of the membership base has now been launched, in light of the publication of the REC DECREE, in order to involve the entire territory in a project of environmental policies and sustainability.
